How to clear recent commands from Windows Run Dialog

Hello Microsoft,

Found a problem with your operating system today.

I got tired using Notepad (long story) and downloaded and installed Notepad++ (Awesome program, can talk about this for hours, but not now).

I use run dialog heavily as I find it too distracting to use mouse. But everytime now I need Notepad++, "Notepad" entry distracts me.
I needed a way to remove that and few other misspelled entries. So here is how you do it:

  1. Press Win + R key
  2. Type in "regedit" and hit enter key (get past WAC warning message, if you get one)
  3. Navigate to following entry: HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Explorer\RunMRU
  4. Here, look at the data column and simply delete the entries that you don't like.
  5. Close Registry Editor
  6. Log off / Reboot
  7. Next time you won't see those entries. Life is good again!
This hack works in XP, Vista and Win 7. I wish Microsoft fixes this annoyance in their next OS.
