Hello Microsoft,
Found a problem with your operating system today.
I got tired using Notepad (long story) and downloaded and installed Notepad++ (Awesome program, can talk about this for hours, but not now).
I use run dialog heavily as I find it too distracting to use mouse. But everytime now I need Notepad++, "Notepad" entry distracts me.
I needed a way to remove that and few other misspelled entries. So here is how you do it:
Found a problem with your operating system today.
I got tired using Notepad (long story) and downloaded and installed Notepad++ (Awesome program, can talk about this for hours, but not now).
I use run dialog heavily as I find it too distracting to use mouse. But everytime now I need Notepad++, "Notepad" entry distracts me.
I needed a way to remove that and few other misspelled entries. So here is how you do it:
- Press Win + R key
- Type in "regedit" and hit enter key (get past WAC warning message, if you get one)
- Navigate to following entry: HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Explorer\RunMRU
- Here, look at the data column and simply delete the entries that you don't like.
- Close Registry Editor
- Log off / Reboot
- Next time you won't see those entries. Life is good again!
